RESIN4ART: INSTRUCTIONS AND TECHNICAL INFO
RESIN4ART has a simple 2:1 mix ratio by weight. So a 3kg epoxy resin kit for example comprises of a 2kg Part A + 1kg Part B.
There is a direct relationship betwen the temperature and the curing time of epoxy resin. The lower the temperature, the longer it takes. Ideal temperature range for curing: 20C-25C.
@15 Celsius = 16-24 hours.
@20 Celsius = 12 - 15 hours.
@25 Celsius = 6-9 hours.
@40 Celsius = 3 hours.
@60 Celsius = 1.5 hours.
@100 Celsius = 0.75 hours.
Rule of approximation: 1kg of resin = 1m2 surface area = 1mm thickness layer.
Minimum Recommended Thickness for tables/floors/driways etc: 2mm (so 2kg/m2).
Shelf-Life: 6 months, when stored in a cool and dry place.
UV Resistance: Very High. This epoxy resin cures crystal clear, and does not yellow, unless subjected to extreme and persistence heat (desert like heat over months).
Colour: Transparent Liquid (Both A+B Parts). resin art.
Working Time: 20 minutes (may be less, depending on the concentration of the resin mixed).
Heat Resistance: 100C. The cured epoxy resin's integrity will not change, nor will the resin liquefy at this temperature. However, even when placing hot objects such as coffee/tea mugs, we recommend using coasters or mats, as light markings may occur.
Exotherm: Epoxy Resin will heat up while it cures. Very large batches of mixed resin in a pot will overheat (exotherm). Never leave mixed resin unattended.
